The Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Hamilton

Immediate need

We are here to help you make immediate arrangements for burial or entombment and to provide any other information you need when death is imminent, or at the time of death.

When a death has occurred, please call your parish priest who will assist you in making the liturgical arrangements. You may also wish to call the funeral home.

We suggest that you next call the cemetery where you intend for your loved one to be buried. If, at one of the smaller cemeteries, you do not reach someone immediately, you may wish to call our main office (905-522-7727, or toll free: 1-800- 661-5985).

A family counsellor will meet with you that day and provide information to help you make arrangements for burial or entombment. The counsellor's role is to explain the options available and provide costs and other information related to your preferred option.

You may also visit "Your Options" on this web site for further information.

Bereavement

The loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult things we have to bear. There is no 'rule book' for grieving, because each person's experiences are unique. If you would like some support during bereavement, we suggest consulting your parish priest, or contact us and we can recommend a bereavement counselling service. Please call the main cemetery office for more information about bereavement counselling referrals.
